Liverpool Here I aM!!!

Brrr!!! Cold!Cold! Those were the words I manage to utter upon arrival of Manchester Airport. It was so cold, I my teeth were practically chatt...chatte...chatteringgg away. We had to walk quite some distance to the custom and walk we did. The queue was very long as only 1 counter was opened and I thought to myself, I am now in a foreign land. I am now considered a foreigner. How sad.My friends then wanted to puff. Kesian. 7hrs can't smoke. When we transit at Abu Dhabi, the first thing they did was look for the smoking room. Kesian me. Have to wait for them. Haha.
As UK now practice no smoking indoors policy, we had to go outside of the terminal to smoke. And I of course had to go along as I do not want to be alone. Stepped out the terminal and I nearly froze at the entrance. It was really really really cold! It was drizzling and wind was blowing. Gosh! I know I'm gonna fall sick already. Haizzz...
Being the vain us, even cold also want to take pictures. So we posed a bit and smile a bit for the camera. Do we look like we are freezing? Guess not. Managed to keep ourselves warm with some hot chocolate costing 2 pounds 1pence. WAH! That's RM 13.13 leh. Ouch! That's painful but what to do. Had to drink something warm.So there we sat, sipping our hot chocolate while waiting for my friends to come pick us up. In those moments, I start to miss my family and friends. It was just yesterday when I said bye bye to them and now, I am half the globe away from them. Gotta be strong, I told myself. Else how am I to survive 2years here. And so, strong I had to be.
Finally, my friends, Enid & Dawn arrived to pick up these 3 'parcels' (that's us). We packed our luggage into Enid's car and followed Dawn to take a train to Liverpool. We took a transit bus from Manchester Airport to Piccaddilly Station to board the train. When we arrived at Piccaddilly station, the train was about to depart and the platform is at the other end of the station. And so, we had a marathon. Wow! I really salute their transportation system. On-time really means ON-TIME! Don't play play.
Ok. Back to the marathon. We ran and ran as fast as we can. But alas, the train has abandoned us. So we had to wait for about half hour for the next train. While waiting for the train, I had time to ponder again (too free ler). What a way to welcome me. First the rain, then the run. Wow.Gonna remember that for life too. After checking in into Enid's Inn and got ourselves refreshed, we head out for lunch and took a walk about the city centre. Environment here is really clean and the air is really fresh so the walk was good though it was freezing cold!
After lunch, Enid brought us around for a half day tour. Even though we were physically tired, we did not feel it because of the excitement of being in a new place. TO keep us awake, Enid fed us 1 can of Red Bull each. It managed to keep me awake till 12am local time (meaning 7am Malaysia time). Wah! Super Woman! Can survive for so long! It was so cold, I went to bed with 3 shirts and 2 socks!. But upon laying my head on the pillow, I think of my family and friends again. Cried abit but in all the tiredness of jet-lag and running and walking and cold, I managed to fall asleep.
Good nite darling. A new chapter of your life has just begun.

Leaving on a Jet Plane 26.4.08

26.4.08 seem to come too soon. Its time for me to say goodbye to my family and friends here in Malaysia. Making the decision to go UK and leave everything behind was not an easy one. Gave it alot of thoughts and after evaluating the pros and cons, I decided to give it a go.

Started preparing for this trip since end September. Frankly speaking, this trip would not have materialised if I do not have travelling partners. Well, lucky for me, I got 2 of them. So this dream of mine finally became a reality.

Submitted the visa application in December and when I went to collect my results, my hands were practically shaking. Couldn't bear to see what was the result, excitement and fear at the same time. Well, all ends well it seems.

Fast forward 3months later, I am flying off ler. Can't believe it myself either. 3mnths just seemed to zoom past me. I have no time to stop and think what I've been doing so far. Has everything been prepared? Did I leave out anything?? None at all. Just follow with the flow I guess.

I've been crying alot before I leave. I have never been away from home for so long and so far! The furthest that I stay out was staying in campus during Uni. Even that, I go home every weekend. This is a totally different experience for me. Not sure if I am ready for it but told myself, this is the path that I have chosen. Die Die oso have to do!

Mummy cooked plenty of nice food for me. Food that I'm gonna miss for sure. Had a good meal and then it was off to the airport. Sending me off was hard for my elder sister as well as we exchanged words that we usually don't. Though we bicker alot, but I guess blood runs thicker than water. I will keep her advise close to heart.

The scene at the airport was a joyful one. Many of my friends came to send me off. Many thanks to them. Really feel warm to have friends like them. To all my friends, really gonna miss all the gossiping sessions and laughing sessions. Thanks for sending me off yah.

After alot of goodbyes and tears (HeHe, I didnt flood KLIA. Phew!), I finally made my way to the gate. I couldn't bear to look back as tears are already pouring down my cheeks. I can only go forward and forward and forward.

It is indeed a day for me to remember for life.

A new chapter of my life begins...
